The Thompson-Nicola Regional District is located in south-central British Columbia, and includes 10 Electoral Areas, 11 Member Municipalities and 25 First Nations. It is one of 27 regional districts in B.C., and is the sixth-largest regional district by population and seventh-largest in size.

The TNRD’s diverse geography includes swaths of the world’s only inland temperate rainforest in the upper North Thompson Valley and Wells Gray Park, the rangelands and vast wilderness of the Bonaparte Plateau, the rolling grasslands of the Nicola Valley, the incredible depths of Adams Lake, the desert and semi-arid climates at Kamloops Lake and the shores of the Thompson River, and parts of the historic Fraser Canyon.
